Dr. Darshan Banker is young and renowned Cardiologist of Baroda City.

He has completed his MBBS and MD from Medical College, Baroda, and has obtained
DM in Cardiology from KEM Hospital and Seth GS Medical College, Bombay. He has been
recognized by ACC as Fellow of the 'American College of Cardiology', USA (FACC)
and also awarded Fellowship of Society of Cardiovascular Angiography & Interventions
(FSCAI), USA.

Dr. Banker is Chief Interventional Cardiologist and the Managing Director of Bankers
Heart Institute and also serves as Honorary Professor of Cardiology at SSG Hospital
& Medical College, Baroda. He has been recognised by National Board of Examination,
New delhi to teaching DNB Students at Bankers Heart Institute.

In his distinguished career he has previously worked at Bhailal Amin General Hospital
& Mayo Hospital. He was chairman and instrumental in conceptualizing and bringing
up Baroda Heart Institute & Research Centre.

His major personal achievements are Gaekwads Gold Medal for academic excellence
and nomination for the Vikas Ratna Award by the Government of India. |

Altruistic and philanthropist by nature, he has helped poor and needy patients at
all stages of his career, be it in his private practise or at Muni Seva Ashram,
Goraj or Santram Hospital, Nadiad. He and his team have conducted regularly various
free Camps and Cardiac Awareness Lectures for General Public in small towns and
villages of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan as part of community out reach
programme. Running Bankers Heart Institute a single speciality cardiac Hospital
having staff of 170 people and also running Echo-Cardiography Centres at Ankleshwar,
Bharuch, Rajpipla, Dabhoi, Godhra, Dahod, Lunawada, Halol, Bodeli, Chhotaudepur,
Dakor, Balasinor, Kapadwanj, Nadiad, Anand, Borsad, Petlad and Karamsad in Gujarat. |

An expert hand at cardiac interventions, he has to credit more than 25,000 angiographies
and more than 10,000 angioplasties, apart from a large number of Pacemaker implantations,
Balloon Valvuloplasties and other interventions.

His pursuit for academic excellence and a keen desire to stay updated in field of
Cardiology has made him an active participant in various national and international
conferences, workshops and seminars. |
